Sian Elizabeth Photography

Sian is a Minneapolis-based wedding and boudoir photographer. She came to me ready to create brand visuals and a website that exemplified her style as a photographer.

The typography direction for Sian Elizabeth Photography’s brand is timeless and elegant. Though simple, the uppercase letters of the logo are bold and professional with a slight feminine touch.

Included in the main logo is a sketched female figure. This element is play on the light and shadows that are essential in capturing images. Though it’s a simple silhouette style sketch, it speaks to the subtle beauty of bodies, particularly female bodies and feels empowering which is a core mission of the brand.

The brand includes two different female figure sketches. Both are subtly imperfect, which feels authentic and genuine while also relating to the importance of positioning and light for photography. These graphics provides a wonderful and unique detail to use on collateral and website.

The color palette uses natural tones and is fairly neutral in color, but has strong contrast of light and dark. The contrast of the shades is again a play on the light and dark of shadows. The neutral color palette allows Sian’s photos to stand out and take the spotlight.

All aspects of this brand were designed to be timeless, yet minimal so that the branding does not distract from the photographs.
